The “Meantime” is the space between where you were and where you want to be. It’s a way of thinking to be ‘In the Meantime’, as it lends itself as a space to take risks and learn something new. The Meantime Design Club began as a way for myself to let go of perfectionism for the sake of learning. It doesn’t have to look great, I just had to learn something in the process. It became an environment to create posters, practice illustrating, develop fictitious brands, or design apparel. It developed into a subsequent Discord of other designers who provide feedback, resources, and kudos to each other all for the sake of learning.
